International Relations / Historical inquiry
The weapons remain.
What can change?
Two armed rivals meet. Their weapons remain dangerous. Can their relationship change what those weapons mean? Investigate the end of the Cold War and the campaign to ban landmines, carry records between exhibits, test an inspection protocol, and defend a coalition strategy. Compare ideas, identities and norms with material pressures and institutional incentives, then revisit your first prediction.

Play the investigation
Move through Geneva, the INF inspection process, the end of the Cold War, and the landmine ban campaign. The walkable district joins exhibits from different places and dates. Historical records are sourced; workshop outcomes are hypothetical. Choose For class for required writing, or For fun to explore with optional explanations.
Work saves in this browser. Download a JSON backup before changing devices. Your instructor assesses the reasoning; the game checks completion. Printing or downloading does not submit work to your course.

For instructors
Learning goals, episode guidance, an editable assignment, a 0–3 rubric, question-specific assessment cues, and discussion prompts. The local grading workspace lets you read one question across the class or one student’s full account.
In the game, open Instructor desk, enter 5907, then choose Open instructor grading workspace. Import the students’ exported assessment-data JSON files. A PDF alone cannot be imported.
Score manually, edit feedback, and export grades or individual feedback reports. Download the grading backup after each session. Responses and feedback stay in this browser; the access code is a convenience, not a security boundary.
All twelve writing tasks and the prediction revisit remain. Review notes identify items to inspect; they do not assign penalties or grades.
The offline game, both guides in PDF and Word, source companion, website copy, and full-bleed cover artwork.
Cover: symbolic AI-generated editorial collage, not a documentary photograph or historical map. Dated historical photographs and their credits remain inside the game. Timing is an estimate; allow additional discussion time.
